About Isaiah

I fell in love with photography during my high school days at Shady Side Academy.

I would often arrive on campus early, before the day really got started. The campus was quiet, and I began noticing things I hadn't noticed before — the way the morning light reflected off the buildings, the shadows across the trees and the way the landscape could look completely different depending on where I stood.

I started looking at the world through a lens, and I loved what I saw.

Photography became more than taking pictures. It became a way for me to see.

One of my biggest moments at Shady Side Academy came when one of my photographs was selected for the cover of the yearbook. Seeing my work featured that way gave me the confidence to keep going and take my photography seriously.

Then came another moment I'll never forget.

My art teacher, Cari Batchelar, believed in me enough to leave me a camera. That meant a lot. Someone saw something in me and encouraged me to keep creating. I was grateful that she believed in my ability and gave me something that could help me continue developing my craft.

I'll always appreciate Ms. Batchelar for giving me that extra push.

Today, I'm continuing that journey at Allegheny College, where I'm studying Data Science while pursuing my passion for photography, videography and filmmaking. I also work with the Allegheny College Athletics Department as a photographer, videographer and editor.

Every day, I'm learning something new — not just about cameras, lighting, composition and editing, but about how a single image can tell a story.

Whether I'm photographing a graduation, capturing the energy of a college game, exploring the streets of a city or creating video, I believe what we see through a lens can be powerful when we share it with the world.
